Roster is a staff scheduling and resource management system used in airport ground-handling operations. It supports strategic planning, what-if demand and capacity simulations, roster and shift plans, real-time operations, and reporting.
For many years, staff planning was managed manually with Excel sheets—an error-prone and time-consuming process. I worked on multiple key screens to simplify manual assignments, visualize workload, and design a smoother planning experience. By moving these processes into a digital platform, the system not only reduced errors but also provided balanced workloads and transparent shift visibility for employees.
Transition from manual Excel planning to a digital system
Balanced workload distribution and compliance with labor rules
Reduced errors and faster shift assignments
Scalable solution already deployed at airports of different sizes worldwide
This project highlighted the importance of designing tools that combine strategic planning and day-to-day usability, making complex ground-handling operations more efficient and reliable.
